The Newtown 9 Course
The Newtown Course at Tramore Golf Club a par 35 which stretches 3,100 yards (2,882m). The first hole is one of the narrowest fairways in the country, carved out of the forest that originally ran between two holes on the original layout. While shorter than the other two layouts, and containing 3 Par 3’s it provides no less of a challenge. Many members would choose the 4th hole as the highlight of the course – a 200 yard Par 3 in which a lake guarding front and left requires an accurately placed tee shot into the prevailing wind. The lake is home to a lot of wildlife including rabbits, ducks, swans and more.
The Newtown Nine finishes with a par 3 that contains a meandering stream in-front of the green. Similar to the 1st, this hole has been carved out of the old Forrest that separated the 13th and 16th on the Old-Course. This course offers tremendous value for those looking to play a challenging nine-hole course.
